NYC’s DJ Rashad Hayes laces this mix of classic Mos Def including 23 classic tracks with an hours worth of playtime. Most of the tracks have been released around the time of Mos Def’s debut album. The mix has been posted on Mos Def’s official Facebook Account too, so this can’t be a bad set up in here! Apparently there were too many downloads through Soundcloud that the download option has been disabled, although Rashad Hayes has stated that the free download link will be put up on his website which is currently in process of being made! I dropped a mixtape on Friday called “Keys Over Kanye” and nobody cared. Then, I read the MCA had passed, felt so sad but the hustler in me kept pushing my new tape. After a few hours, I realized promo-ing my shit was selfish, and had to look into maybe doing a best of beasties. It’s only right. Mixtapes come together well when you actually love the artist.
