Real fun music video.Track taken from DJ Nu-Mark’s Broken Sunlight available from Hot Plate Records. More info. can be found here.
Structures Built Records Presents Piece of Mind and their lead single “Rap Phenomenon”off of their upcoming self-titled LP. This song represents the essence of what Piece of Mind is all about: just pure classic Hip Hop! The song features G Roc (formerly of Golden Disciples) on the mic, breaking down what he stands for. The track is produced by Gedsi and features obscure samples pieced together on an MPC 2000xl and recorded using the finest in analog gear. Rap Phenomenon is a reminder that there is still some quality Hip Hop being made in a time where hip hop has lost its identity. Piece of Mind has finally arrived.
Piece of Mind consists of Emcee G Roc and DJ/Producer Gedsi. Following in the same vein as Gangstarr, Pete Rock & CL Smooth, Epmd, Brand Nubian, People Under the Stairs and more, this hip hop duo sets out to make classic sounding hip hop through a timeless formula that resonates with hip hop fans — sample-based, boom bap! Based out of Toronto, Piece of Mind will continue to provide true hip hop music for those that feel that something is missing.
