(Audio) Three Bar – ‘Groove On EP’
Not our usual sort of feature but whilst he may be still relatively unknown, the debut EP offering from deep house producer Three Bar hits all the right spots. Released a month or so back via Huxley’s Saints & Sonnets, ‘Groove On’ is the ideal title for his three-track collection. Listening to copious amounts of deep house can sometimes get a little monotonous but the unique components of Three Bar’s composition throw in plenty of unexpected sounds and textures, it’ll have you shakin’ you’re arse round the room! Kicking things off with the title track, let the waves of sub bass wash over you as urgent vocal licks keep things moving over the top. Keep an ear out for Three Bar’s chunky layers of drum patterns here, too. “Now I Know” takes things a little rougher, slapping staccato notes over an almighty sense of swing. Finally, “Movin” rounds things off with another heavy vocal and rhythmical feast. With Three Bar’s music already receiving praise from the likes of Route 94 and Skream, you know this guy has got a sound worth checking out. Take a listen for yourself and grab a copy here.
