The Mouse Outfit has been a mainstay of the Manchester hip hop scene for some time. Their high energy live shows have led them to record two sessions for the BBC at Maida Vale, perform at festivals all over the UK and share stages with heavyweight acts such as The Cinematic Orchestra, Youngblood Brass Band and Chali 2na. This summer they played the main stage at Soundwave Festival in Croatia with Dr Syntax (peripheral member of the Foreign Beggars crew), who has been touring with the band for the past year. Sparkz made a big impact on the Manchester scene in 2011, with the release of his debut EP Back to Basics and his hosting residencies at Hit & Run. His international collaboration with Afu Ra, recorded in New York following his victory at MCR Superstars was one of the highlights of the year. The rest of 2012 is looking busy for Sparkz, with appearances at Outlook Festival and releases with Dub Phizix on the horizon.
