(Video) Bobby McFerrin – Various Videos

McFerrin switches rapidly and fluidly between normal and falsetto registers to create polyphonic effects, effectively performing both the main melody and the accompanying parts of songs. He makes use of percussive effects created both with his mouth and by tapping on his chest. McFerrin is also capable of multiphonic singing; as observed in his song “Drive” from the 2005 DVD Live in Montreal.
A notable document of McFerrin’s approach to singing is his 1984 album The Voice, the first solo vocal jazz album recorded with no accompaniment or overdubbing.

(Audio) MF Borat – The Mask And The Moustache leaks

“In 2006, during a stint out west to promote his then new movie, Sacha Cohen, (aka Borat) met Daniel Dumile, better known as Zev Love X, or MF DOOM. Their blazing freestyle ciphers and mutual love of Purple Kush led to an impromptu recording of Doom’s ‘My Favorite Ladies’ verses (see Herbalisers’ Something Wicked…album) over a beat Borat had made back in ’05 with Kulki Boolchek, a Khazak producer. Later that year Doom ventured east, and recorded three more gems with Cohen at the castle of Rudolf II in Prague, renowned for its stone acoustics. DigDug bought the master off a based-out gypsy in East Oakland and the rest is history!

(Audio) The Nextmen – Anxiety Mix (Mixtape)

Anxiety Mix contains tracks from the likes of Jay-Z and Chase & Status, Dizzee Rascal, Ladi-6, and M.J. Cole (whose legendary cut ‘Sincere’ is transformed into a stellar dubstep workout by Nero). There’s also a bunch of upfront blends and bootlegs which see the likes of the Beasties Boys locking horns with Bowie, and Lucy Pearl getting down with Queen. Quality business, for real.

(Audio) Wait What – The Notorious XX (Mash Up)

“notorious xx began as an idea in my sister’s apartment, where I was trying to figure out what it would sound like hearing juicy over vcr, and since then expanded to include all 11 tracks of the xx’s debut album chopped, sliced, and mashed up with biggie’s vocals. I made it over the span of a few weeks in boston, williamstown, albany, chicago, aspen, denver, and san francisco, and then mastered over 10 days in zurich, zermatt, london, san francisco, dallas, baton rouge and new orleans.”

(Audio) One In The Jungle Archive

I found a load of old cassettes the other day and one of them was a recording of “One in the Jungle” from 1996. I went in search of a digital copy only to find an entire archive of almost every show that had been broadcast. Check it out here: www.oneinthejungle.com.

Jungle Blitz ’96 was the mix I had on cassette though and although it’s not by one of the better known DJ’s, it’s still well worth a listen!
